Jeanette Sandford-Morgan

Born into a highly artistic musical South Australian family, Jeanette has had a lifetime involvement with music, her formal training including both piano and vocal studies.

A close association with her famous brother, acclaimed international violinist Brenton Langbein AO, has given her a world wide opportunity to meet, hear, and form relationships with many artists both in Australia and overseas. Exposure to numerous great orchestras, chamber music ensembles, and other performing groups and individuals enabled her to develop an informed and critical appreciation of classical music in its many forms, and to be invited to become a member of the ASQ Board, and the board of the State Opera of South Australia.

A graduate of The University of Adelaide in Social Science, she spent over 20 years working as a medical social worker in the Royal Adelaide Hospital. She researched, published, and lectured widely on the psychosocial aspects of head and neck cancer and cranio-facial deformity, and in 1991 was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia “for service to public health, particularly though the Australian Cranio-Facial Unit” and retired in 1994.
